FUNDRAISING  FOR
stanton   renovation

In 1868, former slaves and free people of color looked beyond themselves into the future and saw not only us, but innumerable generations of children being educated when their ancestors and they themselves were denied the right.

Your support is needed to help restore Historic Stanton, a national landmark steeped in over 150 years of education in the African-American community. We are seeking funds to assist with restoration of the building. This restoration will allow us to increase building occupancy and make it a self-sustaining resource in African-American education and culture.

The future vision of the building includes an multi-faceted educational component in STEM, museum/gallery exhibits that preserve the rich history and legacy of
Stanton and James W. Johnson, and a multi-purpose entertainment auditorium/venue.  Plans also include office space, a gift shop, daycare and a Stanton-themed restaurant, "Blue Devils".

Let's come together united to help continue the vision of the Colored Education Society. Their vision "saw" James Weldon Johnson, Massachusetts Supreme Court Justice Edward O. Gourdin, Dr. Eartha White, Congressman George Crockett, Tuskegee Airmen Wayman and William Surcey and so many other Stanton graduates soaring to heights of achievement that they could only imagine.

Let's fulfill the dream and press forward in renovating Historic Stanton back to its glory!

Our fundraising efforts include:  Donations, Brick Campaign, GoFundMe and a MLK Day 5k Run/1-Mile Fun Run. Future events will include Vendor Pop-Up Markets and other events.
